Description

Pot feet are an important (essential to some gardeners) accessory for our flower pots. They serve several purposes:

1) They enhance the air circulation under the flower pot, and up through the drainage holes, which is great fro the root structure of many plants.

2) Pot Feet also aid proper drainage of flower pots. Flower pots which do not drain properly is one of the major causes of root rots. Drainage is also particularly important for larger pots which will be left outside during the winter freeze. Pot feet keep the bottom of the pot from getting frozen to the ground, and in the process sealing the drainage holes -- sealed drainage holes result in retained water in the planters, which in turn leads to them breaking.

3) They elevate your larger pots away from the surface of the ground, making it more difficult for some grubs and bugs to get into your plant's root structure.

4) They protect your deck - again, by allowing airflow under the pot, pot feet eliminate the potential buildup of water below the drainage holes, which can lead to wood rot.

5) They look cool.
